Sanitation Worker

Position Overview

Join the team at our bakery facility located at 122 Carrier Drive, Etobicoke, ON as a Sanitation Worker. This role offers an hourly wage of $18.00 and requires dedication to maintaining cleanliness and safety in a fast-paced food production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the production floor and adjacent areas remain clean and orderly.
• Operate various cleaning tools and machines including scrapers, brushes, pads, vacuums, scrubbers, compressed air equipment, and power washers to sanitize production floors, ceilings, walls, warehouses, freezers, refrigerators, packing, and production zones.
• Manage lockout procedures, disassemble, clean and sanitize production equipment following master sanitation schedules and standard operating procedures.
• Follow cleaning protocols aligned with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Health and Safety regulations.
• Collect and dispose of waste and recyclable materials from production areas properly.
• Assist promptly with major spill clean-ups involving liquids and dry products.
• Carry out specialized cleaning tasks as detailed in the master sanitation plan.

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience in industrial or warehouse sanitation and cleaning roles.
• Background in a manufacturing setting, preferably food manufacturing.
• Comfortable handling sanitizing chemicals and agents safely.
• Excellent attention to detail to meet stringent cleanliness standards.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment while being self-directed and eager to grow.
• Proficient communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Some mechanical aptitude.
• Maintain safety while working efficiently.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong numeracy and multi-tasking abilities.
• Problem-solving skills for troubleshooting and reacting appropriately to situations.
• Reliable attendance history.
