Belmond Safaris is hiring a relief professional guide to move smoothly between two lodges and provide uninterrupted, high-standard guiding support. The role is centered on creating memorable guest experiences through knowledgeable storytelling, a deep appreciation of nature, and attentive hospitality. This opportunity is suited to someone who wants to work in the Delta and Chobe regions and contribute to unforgettable safari moments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead guests on daily game drives and/or walks, ensuring the safari experience is informative, distinctive, and memorable.
• Oversee and coordinate all safari-related activities.
• Support and participate in conservation and community projects and initiatives.
• Host guests during pre-dinner drinks, meals, and special events.
• Assist with or run guest activities and special functions when needed.
• Help with transfers for guests and staff.
• Maintain clear communication with lodge management regarding guest needs and guiding arrangements.
• Share guest feedback and preferences with management to help improve the overall experience.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant professional guiding experience.
• A valid Professional Guide Licence is required, with rifle training and walking and water safari certifications preferred.
• Strong enthusiasm for the Delta environment and Chobe National Park.
• Confidence in conducting game drives, identifying minor vehicle issues, and holding a valid driving licence.
• Excellent storytelling and communication ability.
