About the Role
This position sits within the rural banking division and is centered on Kisan Credit Card (KCC) customers. The role is responsible for building new customer relationships, strengthening existing ones, and delivering high-quality service. The person in this role will coordinate with product and operations teams to support customer acquisition, account servicing, and portfolio expansion. A key part of the job is managing new-to-bank clients and helping improve customer profitability through the branch banking channel.
Key Responsibilities
- Grow liabilities by increasing balances in existing KCC customer accounts and expanding share of wallet.
- Track account credits and debits to spot business opportunities early.
- Stay in regular touch with customers via calls and mailers, and keep them updated on interest rates, exchange rates, and relevant product options.
- Source fresh KCC business leads through referrals, brokers, and other channels.
- Bring in new KCC customers with a solid grasp of credit evaluation and financial paperwork.
- Use knowledge of liabilities, foreign exchange, trade finance, delinquency handling, and relationship management to increase business volume.
- Oversee the KCC book through ongoing monitoring, renewals, retention efforts, and strong portfolio hygiene with limited deferrals and covenant violations.
- Work with branch banking teams to create operational synergies across the bank network.
- Assess growth opportunities using competitor insights and customer responses.
- Suggest improvements that raise service quality and operational efficiency across branches.
- Contribute to sales planning, promotional activity, and marketing efforts.
- Interpret financial statements and handle credit assessment along with title and security documentation.
Additional Responsibilities
- Help attract and retain strong talent for important roles in the reporting line.
- Review employee productivity, hiring effectiveness, and attrition trends, then implement improvements where needed.
- Support teams in achieving growth goals through both strategic direction and day-to-day operational backing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in rural banking, KCC or credit products, or relationship management.
- Strong understanding of KCC offerings and the needs of rural customers.
- Working knowledge of credit evaluation and financial documentation.
- Excellent communication, relationship management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to support business growth.
- High integrity and a strong compliance mindset.
- Capability to lead teams and manage performance metrics effectively.
- Comfort with banking operations, portfolio management, and customer service standards.
