Role Overview
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and managing construction site operations, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within allocated budgets, and to the highest quality criteria.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze the project's technical and administrative specifications thoroughly.
- Gather essential technical and administrative data from involved stakeholders during project submissions.
- Obtain and compare blueprints and construction specifications against bid plans.
- Communicate project changes to professionals and manage cost claims appropriately.
- Interpret prime contract terms, conditions, and compliance requirements throughout project implementation.
- Prepare dispute notices, change orders, and contractual claims when necessary.
- Assist the project cost accountant with budget monitoring, cost reporting, and maintaining financial records.
- Secure all required licenses and permits needed for project execution.
- Draft contracts and agreements, negotiate terms, and contract subcontractors accordingly.
- Create and oversee the CNESST-mandated prevention program on-site.
- Define project schedules, main construction phases, constraints, and methodologies; monitor critical paths weekly.
- Communicate regularly with the superintendent and director regarding proposed methods.
- Order essential materials, negotiate pricing, and prepare contractual documents collaboratively with the construction manager.
- Organize and participate in various meetings for project coordination.
- Maintain professional and ongoing rapport with clients and stakeholders.
- Be prepared for travel within Ontario and maintain mobility.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least three years of experience coordinating construction projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project software.
- Relevant experience specifically in building construction project coordination.
- Strong skills in management, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving.
- Demonstrated initiative and leadership qualities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively as a team member.
- Must be available to work both onsite and from the office.

Compensation and Additional Information
The expected salary range for this position is $60,000 to $105,000 annually. Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity. The base salary forms part of a comprehensive total rewards package that may also include performance incentives, extensive health and wellness benefits, retirement savings plans, and opportunities for career advancement.
