Production Manager – Grain/Seed Processing

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Production Manager will oversee scheduling and manage the production flow to optimize throughput efficiency. This requires a thorough consideration of all orders and staffing within the organization and collaborating with teams to prioritize requirements effectively. The role involves working closely with the Seed Manager and Grain Trader to enhance plant capacity at daily, monthly, and yearly levels, balancing various organizational priorities to achieve the company's best long-term interests without compromising safety or quality.

The manager is responsible for maintaining workflow by ensuring all scheduled controls and tasks are completed punctually, through strategic distribution of human and physical resources. Monitoring process steps, equipment, and control points is essential, with schedules being revised as needed after proper consultation. A solid plan for logistics and workforce management is crucial to maximize success. The role also includes executing accurate and timely stock-taking activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant prior work experience in a similar capacity.
• Proficiency in OKR or comparable management systems.
• Strong expertise in HACCP or equivalent quality assurance frameworks.
• Possession or willingness to obtain Forklift, working at heights, and confined space licenses.
• Authorization or training to become an Australian Quarantine Authorised Officer.
• Possession or readiness to acquire a fumigation license.
• Minimum of five years of professional experience in senior operational roles.
