Production Manager - Battery

About the Role and Team

The Production Manager for Battery at Ather Energy will lead the production team at the factory in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. Reporting to the Production Head - Operations, this role involves coordinating about 3M personnel to meet daily manufacturing goals and implementing on-the-job multiskilling training while fostering a performance-driven work environment focused on SQCDM (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Morale).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in Culture, Capability, and Capacity within the department.
• Drive teams to meet targets aligned with SQCDM and organizational objectives.
• Promote a safety-first culture striving for zero incidents or accidents requiring first aid.
• Identify and initiate quality improvement tasks and programs in operations.
• Implement cost reduction initiatives and minimize waste and rejections.
• Ensure operational alignment with functional goals to meet delivery targets.
• Encourage a growth-oriented and inclusive work culture by monitoring the team's pulse and pursuing relevant initiatives.
• Represent the function in SwLs and meetings, actively managing ongoing action items.
• Establish and maintain required processes within the function.
• Plan and allocate resources strategically based on organizational needs.
• Cultivate and uphold the culture of the function.
• Validate that assets and processes introduced via APDS comply with function requirements.
• Own and manage audits related to the function.
• Review change content collaboratively with SIC.
• Ensure professional conduct standards within the department.

Qualifications & Experience

• B.Tech degree in any engineering discipline.
• 8 to 14 years of relevant experience in production or manufacturing management.

Essential Competencies

• Advanced people management skills to lead and align production teams efficiently.
• Strong presentation and communication abilities for stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles and techniques to improve productivity.
• Expertise in quality improvement methodologies such as A3 and PDCA for problem-solving and meeting quality targets.
