Job Overview
Exide Energy Solutions Limited is rapidly expanding and aims to address societal challenges related to energy, environment, and resources by producing lithium-ion battery products. The company is setting up India's first Giga plant to manufacture lithium-ion cells in Bengaluru and is seeking skilled Equipment Engineers in the manufacturing organization. The role is based at the Devanahalli, Bangalore location and focuses on optimizing equipment performance to support efficient, high-quality lithium-ion cell production.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain smooth operation and reliability of manufacturing equipment including lift assists, jigs, fixtures, and trolleys for assigned production segments.
- Enhance equipment efficiency and operational performance to uphold stringent quality standards.
- Monitor production processes continuously to increase overall operational effectiveness.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve equipment issues and implement long-term improvements.
- Customize equipment specifications to align with product requirements and production needs.
- Collaborate closely with process, control, manufacturing engineering teams, and support departments to ensure production goals are met.
- Assist manufacturing engineering during construction and commissioning of field projects.
- Manage projects aimed at optimizing production layouts and facility capabilities.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields. Relevant experience may also be considered.
- Experience in technology-driven industries with automated manufacturing processes such as packaging, automotive, clean room, dry room, or chemical processing.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as an Equipment Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (preferably SolidWorks and Catia) for equipment, fixture, and tooling design.
- Competence in mechanical assembly techniques and fastener selection.
- Experience in introducing new equipment and production processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration capabilities.
- Dedicated focus on safety, quality assurance, and continuous process improvements.
Desired Skills
- Good understanding of automated systems including robotics, vision systems, conveyors, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and human-machine interfaces (HMIs).
- Familiarity with MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
