Product Manager - Core Platforms (Remote, Contract)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager focused on Core Platforms to steer strategic product direction, develop clear roadmaps, and ensure successful outcomes across sophisticated digital platforms. Serving as a vital link between Product Owners, business stakeholders, and technical teams, this role fosters alignment among delivery teams, value creation, and organizational goals.

Operating within a significant Change Program, the Product Manager will own the product vision, prioritize initiatives, manage competing demands, and ensure platform investments yield strong business results, enhanced customer experience, and technical improvements. This position involves close collaboration with Agile Release Trains and senior leadership to drive platform capability, customer satisfaction, and efficient delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and communicate a clear product vision aligning with strategic business objectives.
• Continuously update and manage the product roadmap using business needs and customer insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to enhance product value.
• Lead prioritization efforts and resolve conflicts between competing projects.
• Coach Product Owners and Agile teams to achieve high-quality delivery.
• Promote continuous enhancement in platform capabilities, performance, and user experience.
• Ensure compliance with architectural standards and human-centered design principles.

Requirements

• Proven experience in product management within complex operational environments.
• Experience as a Product Owner working in Agile and SAFe methodologies.
• Familiarity with Digital Service Standards and current product development best practices.
• Demonstrated capacity to create product vision and oversee product lifecycle.
• Strong aptitude for stakeholder engagement and leadership.
• Background in transformation or change management programs.
• Relevant certifications in Agile, SAFe, or Product Management are preferred.

Terms & Conditions

• Security clearance: Must hold Australian citizenship with baseline clearance.
• Location: Canberra preferred (hybrid with two days onsite per week, plus quarterly interstate travel); otherwise remote within Australia with quarterly travel requirements.
• Contract duration: From August 3, 2026, until June 30, 2027, with a strong chance of extension.
• Flexible working arrangements prioritized, with hybrid working preferred.
