Procurement Specialist

Role Overview

The Procurement Specialist position at Galaxy Data Center is a part-time remote opportunity focused on overseeing purchasing activities vital to data center operations. Key responsibilities include preparing and processing purchase orders, monitoring order status, and ensuring prompt delivery of goods and services. This role also requires evaluating and managing supplier relationships, participating in contract negotiations consistent with company guidelines, and keeping detailed procurement records. The specialist analyzes pricing structures, terms, and inventory needs to drive cost efficiency and reduce risk, while coordinating with internal teams to meet their procurement demands.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in procurement processes, particularly handling Purchase Orders and full-cycle procurement.
• Experience in assessing suppliers to measure quality, dependability, and overall performance.
• Competence in negotiating contracts, including evaluating pricing, terms, and service agreements.
• Strong analytical capabilities for data interpretation, bid comparisons, and supporting cost-saving decisions.
• Prior experience in procurement or supply chain roles, ideally within technology or data center sectors.
• Familiarity with procurement or ERP software is advantageous, along with meticulous attention to detail and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
