Role Overview
The Credit Risk Process Executive is responsible for conducting timely and accurate annual assessments of business partners to determine credit limits based on potential exposure. This includes reviewing financial statements, payment histories, credit terms, and managing limits such as mark-to-market and potential future exposure calculations. For credit limits exceeding $350,000, scorecard preparation is necessary, and higher credit limits require approvals following global credit policies. This role directly influences the company's dealings with partners worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct annual credit limit reviews for existing counterparties ensuring precision and adherence to timelines.
- Assist the centralized risk team with tasks like industry updates, insurance validations, and other ad hoc activities.
- Perform bulk reviews based on payment history to exempt certain accounts from detailed assessments.
- Apply intuitive grading methods when financial data is insufficient.
- Execute credit history and compliance verifications.
- Generate risk analysis reports using Tableau Desktop.
- Provide training and guidance to new team members to foster collaborative achievement of objectives.
- Establish strong interdepartmental relationships with relevant teams.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Understanding of finance, credit risk evaluation, and trading concepts, including credit limit assignment and financial assessment of partners.
- Experience in accounting, finance, credit risk management, stakeholder coordination, issue resolution, and documentation.
- Proficiency in Spanish to facilitate communication with customers and commercial teams.
- Exceptional verbal and presentation skills.
- Detail-oriented, result-focused, persistent team player capable of leading discussions on financial reconciliations and analyses involving multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Capability to work independently with efficiency and maintain quality under pressure.
- Meticulous with numerical data and figures.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and oral.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational capabilities.
- Experience managing teams and processes during periods of change.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with additional qualifications such as MBA, CMA, or CA preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, credit risk, or related functions, ideally within the agricultural industry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a Shared Services Centre environment.
- Background handling large volumes of transactions.
- Familiarity with SAP software.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Exposure to the commodity industry is an asset.
