People Greeter

Overview

As a People Greeter at Walmart Canada, you will be instrumental in fostering a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers. Your role encompasses providing excellent customer service and assisting with sales floor activities to build trust and loyalty from visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer a warm and professional greeting to every customer entering and leaving the store, making a lasting positive impression.
• Support loss prevention efforts by tagging returned merchandise, monitoring high-value purchases like electronics, verifying receipts, and reporting any suspicious behavior or security alerts according to company policy.
• Respond courteously to Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alerts, identify reasons for alarms, maintain accurate logs, and notify management of any technical issues.
• Assist customers by providing shopping tools such as carts and flyers, offering directions, answering inquiries, and collaborating with sales associates to locate products and services.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free store environment by following company health and safety standards.
• Maintain flexibility in your work schedule by being available to cover shifts during evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business demands.

Challenges in This Role

• Manage a heavy task load efficiently in a fast-paced environment, including overnight shifts, to remain alert and productive.
• Complete large volumes of restocking and recovery work accurately and within deadlines.
• Physically demanding duties such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting stock and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs., while maintaining attention to detail in repetitive tasks.

Compensation

The starting pay rate for this position is $18.40 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
