Role Overview

As a Payroll Expert (m/w/d), you will hold a pivotal position ensuring accurate, timely, and legally compliant payroll processing for multiple German entities. Collaborating closely with an external payroll service provider alongside HR and Finance departments, you will contribute to the ongoing enhancement of payroll procedures and provide support for projects and system developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly payroll processing independently for several German companies.
• Guarantee correct, lawful, and punctual payroll execution in partnership with the external payroll vendor.
• Serve as the primary contact for employees, management, HR, and Finance regarding any payroll-related inquiries.
• Maintain, document, and continuously improve payroll processes and standards.
• Participate in and lead projects focused on implementing and advancing payroll systems and workflows.
• Coordinate and manage the external payroll provider to ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Prepare analyses, reports, and statistics to support business decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with all pertinent German wage tax, social security, and labor law regulations.
• Assist in both internal and external audit activities as well as month-end and year-end closing processes.

Candidate Profile

• Successfully completed studies in business administration, human resource management, or an equivalent qualification.
• Several years of practical experience in payroll accounting, preferably within an international or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of German wage tax, social security, and labor legislation.
• Experience working with payroll systems such as ADP Loga or similar HR/payroll platforms.
• Proven track record in managing or contributing to payroll projects and process enhancements.
• Excellent analytical skills paired with the ability to generate and interpret reports and key performance indicators.
• Methodical, precise, and self-driven approach to professional tasks.
• Advanced communication and stakeholder management capabilities, enjoying collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent command of German and English, both written and spoken (C1 level).
