About the Role

Jovie is seeking caring and flexible individuals to join our on-call backup nanny team, serving multiple families in the Del Mar, CA area. This role is ideal for those who have experience babysitting, working in daycare, volunteering in nurseries, or retired teachers looking for a smaller, part-time childcare environment. You can adjust your schedule to suit your personal commitments such as school or family.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-home childcare for infants and toddlers without the need to transport children.
  • Perform no household chores other than cleaning up activities or meals related to the child care.
  • Entertain and engage children with hands-on activities tailored to their developmental stage and based on your observation of the child's needs.
  • Support families mainly needing care for children under 2 years old.

Perks and Benefits

  • Competitive hourly pay of $18 to $20.
  • Paid training and a nanny kit complete with age-appropriate games and activities to bring to each assignment.
  • Opportunities for professional growth within childcare, including potential placement as a consistent full- or part-time nanny.
  • Paid sick leave applicable to part-time and full-time schedules.
  • Benefits for full-time workers include a medical stipend, paid vacation, holidays, student loan repayment matching, and retirement savings matching.
  • Additional incentives such as mileage reimbursement, bonuses for positive feedback, contests, and community gatherings.
  • Employment is on a W-2 basis, including unemployment insurance and a chance to build a professional resume.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Experience working with children is required, especially with infants.
  • Reliable transportation with the ability to travel to various family homes in the area.
  • Availability for any three or more weekdays, working shifts of 6–8 hours between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, friendly attitude when interacting with families and supervisors.
