Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-focused Night Watch - Night Auditor to join our Front Office team in Stratford, Ontario. This role involves overseeing the hotel during overnight hours to ensure it remains welcoming, secure, and organized, while preparing for the following day’s operations. The Night Watch acts as a guest host, problem solver, and daily financial reconciler to ensure a smooth transition between days.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcome guests arriving late and handle check-ins and check-outs overnight.
- Manage reservations, process payments, and respond promptly to guest requests.
- Perform the nightly audit, including reconciling accounts, transactions, and preparing detailed reports.
- Investigate discrepancies in financial and operational records.
- Maintain security and operational control throughout the night shift.
- Ensure the hotel is balanced, prepared, and ready for morning operations.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Experience in hotel front office, night audit, accounting, or customer service is beneficial.
- Strong numerical aptitude with a keen eye for detail and ability to identify discrepancies.
- Excellent communication and guest service capabilities with a calm and professional demeanor.
- Self-driven and capable of working independently during overnight hours.
- Proficient computer skills and adaptability in learning property management, payment, reporting, and reservation systems.
- Ability to accurately reconcile financial data and daily revenue activity.
- Highly organized, able to juggle multiple tasks while ensuring precision.
- Demonstrates sound judgment, discretion, and maintains confidentiality of guest and financial information.
- Responds appropriately and calmly to guest concerns and unexpected operational issues at night.
- Flexible availability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
