Job Overview

Join Tata Elxsi as a Network Design Engineer focusing on Nokia 7750 to design and enhance carrier-grade network solutions. This role involves authoring detailed design documents and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure superior network performance and security.

Key Responsibilities

• Create High Level and Low Level Design Documents that align with Sky’s network requirements.
• Manage the selection of software and hardware, conduct bug scrubbing sessions, and assess security vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with Testing and Delivery engineers to review test strategies, identify defects, and approve Method of Procedures (MOP) and change tickets.
• Drive improvements in platform capabilities to promote automation and support DevOps methodologies, enabling scalable deployments.
• Design carrier-grade network infrastructures adhering strictly to Sky’s standards.
• Work extensively with service provider technologies encompassing routing, switching, and security domains.
• Gather and analyze business and technical requirements in collaboration with various stakeholders during initial phases.
• Possess a sound understanding of reliability, availability metrics, design durability, and cost-effectiveness of network solutions.
• Guide the feature roadmap for network security by partnering with strategic technology vendors, coordinating software release planning, budgeting, and business case preparations.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Experience working within a Service Provider environment.
• Proficient in designing carrier-grade network solutions complying with organizational standards.
• Hands-on knowledge in carrier routing, switching, and network security technologies tailored to service providers.
• Strong grasp of Reliability and Availability matrices, design lifespan considerations, and commercial factors influencing solutions.
• Excellent technical writing skills evidenced by producing artifacts like High Level and Low Level Design documents, presentations, and technical diagrams for projects.
• Effective communication skills to articulate risks, obtain necessary approvals, escalate issues promptly, and provide regular project updates.
• Familiarity with Next Generation Firewall technology, particularly Fortigate Firewalls.
• In-depth understanding of distributed hardware architectures with practical experience on Nokia 7750 platforms.
• Expertise in protocols and technologies including ISIS, MPLS, RSVP, Traffic Engineering, Hierarchical QoS, LACP, and BGP.

Desirable Skills

• Basic proficiency in Python programming and Git for configuration template management and automation script development.
• Knowledge of F5 Load Balancers (LTM/GTM) and Mobile 5G technologies.
