Native Nursery Volunteer

About the Role

Selmes Garden Charitable Trust and Trees for Marlborough have successfully nurtured thousands of native seedlings through the dedication of a diverse group of volunteers. This opportunity involves providing a final health check to these young trees before they are transplanted to restoration sites throughout the Marlborough region.

Responsibilities

This role suits individuals who enjoy spending time outdoors, don't mind light manual work, and want to contribute consistently to environmental restoration efforts.

Requirements

• Ability to stand or sit while engaging in weeding tasks involving small potted plants
• Basic weeding skills are advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be given
• Positive and supportive attitude towards individuals of varying abilities

Time Commitment

Volunteers are expected to contribute between 2 to 4 hours on one or two days weekly. Availability is flexible Tuesday through Friday between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.
