Position Summary
We seek a Mid to Senior Full Stack Developer based in Auckland to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable web applications spanning front-end and back-end technologies. The candidate should be proficient with React and/or Angular frameworks for front-end development alongside Java and Spring Boot for backend services and APIs. This role involves building secure, maintainable, high-quality applications in an agile environment, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including product management, QA, DevOps, architecture, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop end-to-end web applications with a focus on responsive, accessible, and user-friendly front-end interfaces using React and/or Angular.
- Design and implement secure, scalable backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
- Optimize database schemas, queries, and access patterns for relational and NoSQL databases.
- Integrate diverse internal and third-party systems through REST APIs and enterprise services with secure authentication frameworks.
- Participate actively in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, estimation, and backlog refinement.
- Lead code reviews, perform debugging, tune application performance, and handle production issue resolution.
- Compose and maintain unit, integration, and API test suites to ensure software reliability.
- Adhere to secure coding standards and CI/CD best practices, including branching strategies.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including API specifications and deployment notes.
Requirements and Technical Expertise
- Hands-on experience with JavaScript, TypeScript and front-end frameworks React and/or Angular.
- Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for building backend services and APIs.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design, JSON data format, authentication, authorization, and security best practices.
- Familiarity with secure API design, vulnerability management, secret handling, role-based access control, and OWASP security guidelines.
- Experience with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle) and/or NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
- Solid knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, responsive and accessible UI design principles.
- Experience writing automated tests including unit, integration, and API tests using relevant testing frameworks.
- Competence with version control systems (Git), code review workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development methodologies.
- Excellent debugging, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
