Master Data Steward

About the Role

We are looking for a meticulous Master Data Steward to help keep enterprise master data accurate, consistent, and governed across multiple business areas. You will partner with business teams and technical stakeholders to ensure master data follows established governance standards and supports efficient operations and sound decision-making.

This position is a strong fit for an early-career professional who wants to build practical experience in Master Data Management (MDM), data governance, and enterprise data quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure enterprise master data remains accurate, complete, and consistent across multiple domains such as item, supplier, and location records.
• Handle master data requests in line with MDM governance rules, defined procedures, and approved workflows.
• Work with business users and technical teams to create, update, and modify master data records.
• Partner with data owners and other cross-functional stakeholders to support wider enterprise data initiatives.
• Track data quality indicators and look for ways to improve accuracy and address inconsistencies.
• Apply data governance standards across business functions to strengthen master data quality and compliance.
• Review and analyze master data, and contribute to cleansing, quality enhancement, testing, and issue resolution efforts.
• Examine exception reports and complete system updates promptly so downstream processes continue smoothly.
• Assist with master data activities during system rollouts and continuous improvement projects.
• Serve as the link between business and technical teams for all master data-related matters.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields, or a closely related discipline:

• Business Administration
• Management Information Systems (MIS)
• Data Science
• Supply Chain
• Related disciplines

Experience requirement: 0–2 years in Master Data Management, Data Administration, Data Stewardship, or similar data-focused roles.

Technical capability should include Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics; understanding of database basics; exposure to BI tools; and knowledge of Master Data Management, Data Quality Management, and Data Governance principles.

Strong communication, attention to detail, analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, teamwork, organization, and time management are important for success in this role.
