Responsibilities

  • Execute scheduled and emergency maintenance tasks on the hotel's plumbing infrastructure, including water systems, drainage, sanitary fixtures, piping, pumps, and valves.
  • Quickly diagnose and fix plumbing issues to reduce operational disruptions and maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of plumbing systems to detect potential problems and perform preventive upkeep.
  • Support the upkeep and repairs of electrical components, lighting, HVAC systems, and other critical building services as needed.
  • Respond efficiently to maintenance requests across departments ensuring repairs are completed to high standards.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and construction regulations through routine safety evaluations and prompt hazard resolution.
  • Maintain and service all maintenance tools and machinery to guarantee safety and proper function.
  • Assist with general maintenance duties such as carpentry, painting, decorating, tiling, and minor structural repairs as required.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and preventive service schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels of plumbing parts, consumables, and maintenance supplies, informing management when restocking is necessary.
  • Effectively manage emergency maintenance incidents like plumbing leaks, blockages, flooding, power outages, and other urgent facility issues.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Team and hotel departments to maintain a safe, efficient, and well-kept environment for guests and staff.
  • Strictly follow health and safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and safe work procedures.
  • Contribute towards continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance operational reliability and maintenance efficiency.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience and solid knowledge in managing commercial plumbing systems, installations, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Hospitality, commercial, or facilities maintenance experience is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in all-round maintenance including electrical systems, carpentry, painting, tiling, and general building repairs.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and maintenance timetables competently.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities with effective task prioritization.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple independent tasks simultaneously.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills enabling collaboration across various departments.
  • Understanding of relevant health and safety laws and safe operational practices regarding maintenance and plumbing works.
  • Relevant plumbing certification preferred; additional trade qualifications or electrical credentials advantageous.
  • Possession of a full, clean driving license is desirable.
  • Willingness to work shifts including evenings, weekends, public holidays, and participate in an on-call rotation to address emergency maintenance needs.
