Job description
Overview
The Plant Maintenance Manager is entrusted with ensuring maximum operational uptime, safety, and reliability of all manufacturing machinery and facility infrastructure. This includes managing advanced equipment such as CNC fiber lasers, multi-axis press brakes, automated powder coating lines, curing ovens, and utility systems.
Key Duties
- Develop, execute, and regularly evaluate preventive maintenance (PM) plans on daily, weekly, and monthly intervals for key machinery to prevent malfunctions.
- Manage and maintain a secure inventory of critical spare parts, focusing on long-lead-time components to avoid production delays.
- Lead rapid troubleshooting and repair efforts for emergency equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and reduce mean repair times.
- Supervise and maintain the plant's high-capacity utility systems and related auxiliary equipment.
- Coordinate and oversee external Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) service vendors and contractors responsible for specialized equipment overhauls.
- Ensure full compliance with safety and environmental regulations, including managing chemical wash disposal, powder dust prevention, and enforcing machine safeguarding standards such as OSHA and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics.
- Have at least 7 years of supervisory or management experience in maintenance within a precision sheet metal fabrication or CNC machining environment.
- Strong technical expertise in PLC logic troubleshooting, CNC machine programming interfaces, and diagnosing hydraulic and pneumatic circuits.
- Capable of maintaining composure and leadership during critical breakdowns, effectively directing maintenance teams under pressure.
- Proficiency in either English or Arabic language.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Expertise in preventive maintenance strategies, equipment reliability enhancement, root cause failure analysis, and downtime reduction methodologies. Competency in managing vendor and contractor relationships, as well as ensuring adherence to environmental compliance and safety standards.
