Job description
Overview
We seek an experienced Mainframe Developer with 2-3 years of hands-on expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS to develop, maintain, and support enterprise mainframe applications. The role involves close collaboration with both business and technical teams to ensure robust application performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and sustain mainframe software solutions.
- Develop and update COBOL programs and manage Job Control Language (JCL) scripts.
- Interact with DB2 database systems and handle CICS transaction management.
- Diagnose and resolve operational issues affecting applications.
- Conduct testing procedures and support application deployments.
- Engage actively in production support and troubleshooting tasks.
Core Skills
- Proficiency in COBOL programming.
- Experience with Job Control Language (JCL).
- Working knowledge of IBM DB2 databases.
- Expertise in CICS transaction processing.
- Familiarity with VSAM and TSO/ISPF utilities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related area.
- Demonstrated 2 to 3 years experience in mainframe application development.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Effective communicator with solid teamwork skills.
