Logistics Operations Manager

Overview

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Logistics Operations Manager to join our Leadership Team in Celebration, FL. This critical role is focused on overseeing and enhancing the entire logistics lifecycle supporting Disney's products, ensuring efficient flow from origin to client delivery. The individual will be responsible for aligning logistics operations with customer service standards and cost efficiency targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the main logistics contact for Disney clients, ensuring commitments to service levels are consistently met or surpassed.
• Establish and nurture strong partnerships with suppliers, transport providers, and other supply chain collaborators.
• Manage logistics systems to boost operation efficiency and maintain accurate data flow.
• Oversee contracts and ensure adherence to company and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate daily transportation tasks to secure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
• Supervise freight auditing and payment processes to guarantee accuracy and promptness.
• Lead strategic initiatives aimed at continuous improvements, cost reductions, and service enhancements.

Operational Management

• Lead daily logistics operations including shipment scheduling, tendering, consolidation, delivery confirmations, and resolving freight audit or payment exceptions.
• Maintain product flow efficiency by proactively managing exceptions to fulfill demand and service commitments.
• Forecast shipment volumes to coordinate and secure carrier capacity allocations.
• Provide direct support to operations teams for shipment execution and problem-solving.
• Conduct root cause investigations for repetitive shipment and invoice issues.
• Develop and update standard operating procedures, training resources, and performance standards for logistics personnel.

Network and System Optimization

• Drive logistics network improvements such as lane optimizations, hub utilization, and process enhancements.
• Support transitioning freight terms from supplier-managed to Disney-managed for improved cost oversight and visibility.
• Manage Oracle logistics systems including user acceptance testing for updates and shipment lifecycle management, ensuring data integrity and resolving discrepancies with system support.

Contract and Performance Management

• Assist leadership with contract negotiations by delivering operational insights and relevant data.
• Contribute to RFP strategy and recommend adjustments based on operational experience.
• Monitor supply chain partner performance via enhanced dashboards and metrics, coordinating necessary adjustments after quarterly analysis.

Client and Budget Management

• Coordinate quarterly performance reviews and adjustments with Disney internal stakeholders.
• Deliver inbound logistics reporting to merchants, planners, and distribution centers.
• Create logistics models including landed costs, cycle times, and transit cost comparisons tailored to internal clients.
• Analyze spend variances and craft strategic responses to key cost drivers.
• Manage financial impacts related to contracts and support budget and multi-year logistics planning.

Process Improvement and Projects

• Lead cross-departmental projects to enhance service quality, reduce costs, optimize labor, and maximize system use.
• Assess current processes to identify opportunities for improvements using process mapping and system capability evaluations.
• Develop actionable project plans with clear timelines and milestones.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers an annual salary ranging from $110,000 to $147,500 depending on qualifications and location factors. Compensation may include bonus elements and/or long-term incentives. Additionally, the full package includes comprehensive medical, financial, and other benefits relevant to the role's level.
