Role Overview

This Berlin-based Investment Associate role sits within the investment team and reports to the Investment Principal. It is a hands-on position focused on discovering promising founders early and supporting them as they build category-leading businesses. The role spans the full investment process, from sourcing and diligence through to portfolio assistance.

The company is looking for someone who enjoys meeting founders, is intellectually curious, and wants to grow into a top-tier early-stage investor.

Key Responsibilities

• Find new investment opportunities using data-led methods as well as personal relationships and network building, with a strong focus on the European tech ecosystem and especially the DACH region.
• Track emerging markets and themes, build expertise in selected sectors, and form clear views on where the next breakout companies may appear.
• Support due diligence by reviewing data, researching markets, speaking with references, taking diligence calls, and preparing investment memos that guide decisions.
• Work alongside portfolio companies during their growth journey, including board participation, strategic and operational support, and help with later fundraising rounds.
• Contribute to the broader firm by trying new ideas, sharing learnings internally, and helping strengthen the culture and platform of the fund.

Candidate Profile

• Approximately 1-2 years of venture capital experience, or around 2-4 years in a relevant role at a technology startup or scale-up, such as product, sales/growth, engineering, or founder/co-founder work. Applicants from top management consulting backgrounds or with some VC exposure are also welcome.
• Strong existing network, or actively building one, within the European startup and tech community, ideally in the DACH market.
• Comfort with data analysis, financial modelling, and market assessment to develop sound investment opinions.
• Strong interest in technology, startups, and the mechanics of building successful companies.
• Ability to explain complex ideas clearly in writing and in conversation with founders and partners.
• Proactive, practical, and comfortable working in a fast-moving, uncertain early-stage investing environment.
