Investment Associate

Role Overview

As an Investment Associate, you will be a central figure within a dynamic entrepreneurial team, working directly with key decision-makers. This role involves full lifecycle engagement in deals and transactions, along with supporting portfolio companies through value creation projects up to their sale.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage actively in all stages of transactions, from initial deal sourcing through execution and eventual exit, emphasizing financial and commercial assessments.
• Conduct thorough analyses of potential investments including market evaluation, company assessment, and financial modeling such as Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Leveraged Buyout (LBO), and multiples analysis.
• Lead due diligence efforts—commercial, legal, and financial—while managing collaboration with external advisors.
• Prepare detailed investment memoranda for presentation to the Investment Committee.
• Assist portfolio companies with strategic growth initiatives, operational efficiency enhancements, and merger and acquisition projects.
• Monitor and evaluate portfolio company performance regularly and produce comprehensive reports for investors.
• Collaborate closely with senior executives of target and portfolio companies and coordinate with external partners including consultants, banks, and legal teams.
• Perform multi-sector analyses across various industries and transactional circumstances.

Candidate Profile

• Strong enthusiasm for investments and transactions with a dedication to becoming a skilled and responsible investor.
• Passion for the German mid-sized companies environment (Mittelstand) with prior experience in this sector.
• Independent and committed approach to work with a constructive and proactive attitude.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with realistic evaluation of risks and opportunities.
• Confident decision-making capabilities and clear communication of viewpoints.
• Advanced analytical skills including solid financial expertise and proficiency in LBO modeling.
• Excellent interpersonal abilities to effectively collaborate in team settings with external advisors, entrepreneurs, and managers.
• Distinguished academic credentials from a reputable university or business school coupled with international exposure and extracurricular accomplishments.
• A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience post-graduation.
