Job description

Overview

The Inventory Coordinator acts as a central operational figure for South East Water's Kent sites, focusing on improving and centralizing procurement and inventory procedures. The role emphasizes using data analysis to streamline operations, reduce tracking issues, and ensure essential parts, uniforms, and consumables are efficiently distributed to relevant teams, enhancing overall site reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently handle daily responsibilities to sustain steady stock flow and organize inventory throughout Kent locations with minimal oversight.
  • Manage the complete procurement cycle for parts, uniforms, and consumables, performing regular inventory and process checks to ensure order accuracy and that teams are fully stocked.
  • Conduct purchases through Purchase Orders or company credit cards, ensuring correct cost center allocation and adherence to spending and approval policies.
  • Reconcile monthly credit card statements with receipts to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Track stock quantities and distribution to confirm inventory goes to appropriate personnel and teams.
  • Analyze purchasing and inventory data to reveal spending habits, usage trends, and optimal stock levels, targeting cost reductions across Kent operations.
  • Work alongside management to enhance inventory procedures by converting data insights into clear, practical operational workflows.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Background combining data analysis with practical experience in inventory management, procurement, or store control.
  • Highly self-driven with a proven ability to handle workloads independently.
  • Advanced skills in spreadsheets and data interpretation to optimize purchasing processes.
  • Strong organizational capabilities handling budgets, receipts, and physical stock distribution.
  • Experienced in managing commercial procurement processes, including supplier relations and purchase order systems.
  • Good secondary education with solid numeracy and literacy competencies.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary up to £30,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
