About the Role

We are recruiting a diligent Insurance Verification & Authorization Specialist to support a busy U.S.-based medical practice. This crucial position ensures patients are prepared for next-day appointments by verifying insurance coverage accurately, securing timely authorizations, and facilitating a seamless financial process for patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for patients scheduled the next day across various carriers.
  • Confirm active insurance coverage and accurately assess patient financial obligations such as copays, deductibles, and coinsurance for medical visits, procedures, and treatments.
  • Secure referrals and obtain prior authorizations from primary care physicians and insurance companies as required.
  • Navigate and utilize health plan portals and insurance platforms proficiently.
  • Collect payments for telehealth appointments when applicable.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal teams to ensure patient readiness and to prevent appointment delays, insurance denials, or cancellations.
  • Support general administrative and office tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with fellow insurance verification specialists and on-site staff for smooth operations.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in insurance verification within a medical office setting.
  • Demonstrated experience handling referrals and prior authorization procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, including CPT codes.
  • Proficiency in using insurance portals and verification platforms.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet daily deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Quick learner with adaptability to changing workflows.
  • Effective teamwork capabilities and professional communication skills.
  • A customer service–focused approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Rheumatology clinics.
  • Familiarity with Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance plans.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Previous remote work experience with U.S.-based medical offices.

Additional Information

This role is contracted under Service Provision as an Independent Contractor.

Compensation: Starting from 3400 Peruvian Soles monthly
