About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned Instructional Designer to lead the end-to-end design and development of training programs for a significant enterprise software rollout. The role demands ownership of the full instructional design process, working closely with business leaders and subject matter experts to create dynamic learning experiences that foster effective system utilization.
This position requires more than basic eLearning course development; it calls for a professional capable of independently managing projects from conception to delivery, adapting quickly to new systems, and leading the instructional design process with minimal supervision while maintaining hands-on involvement.
You will act as the central liaison among stakeholders, SMEs, and the training team, transforming broad training requests into completed learning solutions.
Position Details

- Employment will be on a W2 basis only; corp-to-corp arrangements are not accepted.
- Benefits include health insurance, dental, vision coverage, and 401(k) plan participation.
Core Responsibilities
- Own and execute the complete instructional design lifecycle following the ADDIE framework.
- Engage directly with business stakeholders and SMEs to analyze requirements and identify learning needs.
- Evaluate business processes to select the most effective training solutions independently.
- Acquire knowledge of new software platforms, workflows, and business procedures with minimal guidance.
- Create interactive eLearning content using Articulate Storyline 360 and related authoring software.
- Develop software simulations, demonstrations, scenario-based trainings, assessments, and interactive exercises.
- Produce storyboards, scripts, facilitator and learner guides, job aids, quick reference materials, and supplementary documentation.
- Perform rigorous testing and quality assurance to ensure learning assets function correctly and accurately represent business processes.
- Manage and prioritize multiple instructional design projects concurrently and adhere to deadlines.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, SMEs, Training teams, IT staff, and business leaders through all stages of project delivery.
- Proactively troubleshoot challenges and suggest enhancements during development.
- Maintain clear communication of project status and timelines to all stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of four years’ experience as an instructional designer within enterprise environments.
- Advanced expertise in Articulate Storyline 360 supported by a portfolio demonstrating interactive eLearning and software simulations.
- Proven track record of independently leading instructional design projects from initiation to completion.
- Comprehensive understanding and application of the ADDIE instructional design methodology.
- Experience conducting training needs analyses and gathering requirements from business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn and assimilate complex systems and technical information independently.
- Proficiency in designing various learning materials including interactive eLearning, simulations, scenario-based content, storyboards, job aids, quick reference guides, facilitator manuals, process documentation, and performance support tools.
- Strong organizational and project management skills capable of managing multiple projects with little oversight.
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, enabling clear explanation of instructional design choices and effective collaboration across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading or facilitating instructor-led training sessions.
- Background in healthcare, pharmaceutical, pharmacy benefit management, or other highly regulated industries.
- Previous involvement in enterprise software rollout, large-scale system implementations, or digital transformation projects.
- Proven ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams across diverse business units.
- Familiarity with accessibility compliance standards such as WCAG and Section 508.
