Role overview
This 12-month position is based in Anngrove, Carrigtwohill, County Cork, and operates on a 24/7 rota made up of 2 day shifts, 2 night shifts, followed by 4 days off. Working under general supervision, you will carry out inspection and release activities for products made in a GMP and ISO 13485 controlled environment.
Receiving inspection
- Take samples, examine incoming raw materials and components, and log inspection outcomes against the applicable requirements.
- Manage the transfer of materials to the correct storage or process locations.
- Handle the required records and paperwork, including DMRs, QT tickets, and Certificates of Conformance where relevant.
- Compile and share area performance metrics.
In-process inspection
- Check manufacturing records to confirm they are accurate and complete.
- Control the movement of any non-conforming material within the area.
- Prepare and communicate relevant performance measures for the team or area.
Final inspection and product release
- Review work order paperwork before products are shipped.
- Carry out product release duties.
- Examine non-sterile product documentation and authorise release of product.
General duties
- Carry out weekly Spider-web and 5 Basics audits.
- Identify quality concerns and support root-cause analysis and problem-solving efforts.
- Show reliable attendance and dependability.
- Work effectively as part of a team.
- Handle repetitive and recurring tasks using standard methods, tools, and equipment.
- Work from engineering drawings and/or written instructions.
- Follow documentation controls and comply with the Quality Management System.
- Observe all health and safety rules and procedures.
Requirements
- Leaving Certificate or an equivalent qualification or relevant experience.
- Good basic numeracy and writing ability.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read blueprints or engineering schematics.
- Working knowledge of basic inspection methods.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to use small hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, hammers, and wrenches.
- Comfort working with small parts and assembling components.
- Willingness to work in a fast-moving environment, including extended hours when needed.
- Capability to follow detailed quality standards and inspection procedures.
- Ability to explain product or component issues to internal stakeholders.
- Flexibility to support changing business needs.
- Sound judgement when using inspection tools and making decisions.
- Careful attention to accurate documentation.
- Previous use of inspection equipment and techniques is helpful but not mandatory.
