Overview
We are seeking a skilled IT Service Desk Engineer to join the internal IT team of a well-established organization on a permanent full-time basis in Dublin. The primary responsibility is to provide exceptional technical assistance to end users, manage core IT infrastructure, and ensure uninterrupted functionality of critical business systems and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver first and second-level technical support across various business locations with a focus on excellent customer service.
- Handle, prioritize, and resolve IT Service Desk incidents and requests within defined service level agreements.
- Support and manage Microsoft 365 suite, including Exchange Online, Azure AD, and traditional Active Directory environments.
- Set up, deploy, and maintain end-user computing hardware, software, and peripherals in compliance with company standards.
- Administer Microsoft Intune for device enrollment, configuration, and compliance management.
- Maintain Windows desktop systems, email platforms, printers, and assorted business applications.
- Assist in managing SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and collaboration tools.
- Create and update technical documentation, user manuals, and standard operating procedures.
- Install, configure, and support specialized software used by the business.
- Provide support for provisioning and maintaining mobile devices on iOS and Android platforms.
- Participate in continuous improvement by proposing enhancements to IT processes, documentation, and the end-user experience.
- Support backup operations and help maintain business continuity where needed.
Required Experience and Skills
- At least three years in IT Service Desk, Desktop Support, or similar IT support roles.
- Proven expertise in supporting Microsoft Windows desktop environments.
- Practical experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory, preferably within hybrid setups.
- Hands-on administration of Microsoft Intune and endpoint device management.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 including Exchange Online and Office products.
- Knowledgeable in SharePoint Online and OneDrive platforms.
- Basic networking skills, including understanding TCP/IP, IP addressing, and network troubleshooting.
- Competent in supporting hardware, software, printers, and various end-user devices.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and analytical thinking.
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
- Ability to manage workload and handle multiple requests efficiently.
- Experienced in generating and maintaining clear technical documentation.
Desirable Qualifications
- Microsoft Azure or relevant Microsoft certifications.
- Understanding of backup and data recovery processes.
- Skills in PowerShell scripting for automation.
- Exposure to IT project delivery and change management.
- Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
- Experience with mobile device management solutions.
- Awareness of cloud technologies and modern workplace environments.
- Experience in supporting multi-location or international organizational setups.
Educational Background
A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields is required. Holding Microsoft or other relevant industry certifications is advantageous.
