HSQE Advisor

Overview

The HSQE Advisor role involves partnering closely with site management and the HSQE team to enhance our Business Management Systems continually. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture that prioritizes health and safety across all company levels and subcontractors.

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate with site management and HSQE teams to continuously improve Business Management Systems.
• Promote health and safety principles and culture throughout the company and subcontractors.
• Provide expert guidance on Occupational Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality matters to site teams.
• Work with site teams to pinpoint key risks, formulate measures to manage and reduce them to acceptable thresholds.
• Support site management in reviewing direct and subcontractor documentation before and during site operations.
• Organize and participate in toolbox talks, inductions, and consultation meetings.
• Attend HSQE meetings at site, regional, sector, and company-wide levels, contributing actively.
• Conduct recurring site inspections with Coffey teams, identifying improvements and assisting with addressing them.
• Lead learning reviews, prepare reports, advise on findings, and implement recommendations.
• Collaborate with clients’ representatives and external bodies such as enforcement agencies; partake in inspections and audits.
• Assist in generating periodic HSQE reports as needed.
• Plan, source, and deliver employee training aligned with recognized standards; coordinate external training as required.
• Help maintain and monitor relevant training records.
• Set up and review subcontractor and supplier insurance documentation.
• Support organization of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) events.
• Contribute to tender, prequalification, and pre-construction processes when necessary.
• Coordinate fire safety certification, fire drills, and related training activities.
• Engage with and promote Coffey’s LEAN Programme initiatives.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Between 3 and 7 years of experience in HSQE roles, preferably within civil construction.
• Third-level qualification in Health and Safety.
• Familiar with relevant HSQE standards and management systems.
• Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a high standard of English.
• Computer proficient.
• Possession of a full, clean Irish driving license.
• Legal authorization to work in Ireland, such as stamp 4 or critical skills visa.
