About the Role
Stellar Creative Lab is seeking a compassionate and resilient HR Generalist for a one-year contract with potential for extension. This hybrid role requires presence in the Vancouver studio two days per week and reports directly to the HR Manager. The annual salary ranges from $65,000 to $80,000 CAD.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, guiding managers through complex employee relations issues including difficult conversations, performance improvement plans, and terminations with empathy and adherence to compliance.
- Manage employee performance and cultural initiatives by overseeing performance and probation review cycles, ensuring constructive feedback and supporting employee growth.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees on HR policies, leave procedures, and general inquiries.
- Maintain and update HR policies, handbook, employment contracts, and records within the HR Information System (Payworks), ensuring audit readiness and consistency.
- Lead end-to-end recruitment processes using the Applicant Tracking System (JazzHR), including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and building sustainable candidate pipelines enhancing the hiring experience.
- Coordinate smooth onboarding programs collaborating with IT, Payroll, and Production teams to ensure new hires are well integrated.
- Provide light facilities support during on-site days by coordinating maintenance requests with building management for utilities, air conditioning, and electrical issues.
- Manage security protocols by administering access card and alarm code systems, issuing credentials to staff.
- Oversee office inventory and assist with planning company events in partnership with Production Teams.
- Ensure compliance with British Columbia's Occupational Health and Safety Act to maintain a safe and functional workspace.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field; diplomas or certificates in these areas are also acceptable.
- Minimum of three years of practical HR Generalist experience encompassing both recruitment and daily HR operations.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian employment standards and ability to enforce HR compliance and maintain accurate records.
- Excellent organizational skills, sound judgment, and ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
- Outstanding problem-solving abilities and multitasking capability.
- Superior communication skills in English both written and oral, demonstrating professionalism and integrity.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace tools.
- Willingness to work on-site two days per week at the Vancouver studio.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms such as Payworks and ATS tools like JazzHR.
- Familiarity with recruitment via LinkedIn.
- Background in digital marketing or social media management is advantageous.
