Role overview
The Head of Project Management Office (PMO) will set up, oversee, and keep refining project management standards across a portfolio of turnkey EPC assignments in MV and EHV substations (AIS and GIS), digital substations, E-House, skid-based solutions, and e-BOP systems. The position is aimed at improving portfolio transparency, schedule control, risk handling, and governance discipline so projects are delivered predictably, on schedule, and with better profitability.

Project and portfolio governance
- Build and operate a strong Project@Siemens governance structure across the full project portfolio.
- Set common project management methods, templates, and workflows aligned with PM@Siemens.
- Make sure stage-gate approvals and project lifecycle checks are followed consistently.
- Run regular portfolio and project review meetings on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Perform detailed reviews for projects that are critical or carrying higher risk.
- Ensure issues are flagged early and escalated in time, including schedule slippage, budget overruns, engineering or procurement constraints, and site execution risks.
- Support coordinated corrective action planning across functions.
Dashboards and reporting
- Create and maintain live portfolio dashboards that cover the key techno-commercial dimensions of each project.
- Deliver executive-level insights through clear, data-led reporting.
- Put standard KPI structures in place across all projects.
Project review discipline
- Plan and execute periodic project review meetings.
- Ensure the agenda, data inputs, and outputs are prepared in a structured way.
- Strengthen review discipline across engineering, procurement, project management, and site teams.
- Track action items and ensure closure after each review.
Planning and scheduling
- Standardize scheduling practices using MS Project.
- Ensure baseline schedules, critical path analysis, and look-ahead plans are developed properly.
- Monitor variance against plan and push recovery actions when required.
Digital tools and automation
- Lead the rollout of PMO digital platforms and tools, including Power BI-based dashboards.
- Encourage the use of analytics and automation in project monitoring.
Knowledge management
- Develop a knowledge repository to capture lessons learned.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
Team leadership and capability building
- Build and manage a high-performing PMO team.
- Define competency frameworks for project managers, planners, and cost controllers.
- Drive training in EPC project management, scheduling and risk management, and digital tools.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- An MBA, PMP, PgMP, or an equivalent certification is preferred.
- PM@Siemens Project Manager certification at minimum “C” level is preferred.
- 15 to 20+ years of experience in EPC substation projects covering MV/EHV AIS/GIS.
- At least 5 years in a PMO leadership role.
- Strong understanding of solution portfolios and the EPC business model.
