Role Overview
The Head of Strategy is a senior leadership position vital to defining and executing the Group’s long-term strategic direction. This role involves collaborating across all departments to uncover growth opportunities, bolster organizational efficiency, and spearhead transformational projects that advance the company's growth trajectory. A commercially savvy leader comfortable with directing decisions at the executive tier will thrive in this fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Devise and lead the Group's strategic roadmap in line with the company’s vision and growth ambitions.
- Identify new ventures, market growth paths, and product or category expansion prospects.
- Perform thorough market, industry, and competitor analyses to guide strategic decisions.
- Offer strategic counsel to the CEO and leadership team regarding critical business objectives.
- Track performance across brands, markets, and channels, highlighting growth and profit improvement opportunities.
- Drive initiatives geared toward increasing revenue, customer acquisition, retention, average order value, lifetime customer value, and operational efficiencies.
- Develop financial models and business cases to justify investment choices.
- Lead company-wide transformation efforts to enhance scalability, operational excellence, and overall business performance.
- Promote process refinements, organizational restructuring, and interdepartmental optimization.
- Champion the integration of AI, automation, and digital advancements within the company.
- Oversee cross-functional strategic projects from ideation through execution, ensuring interdepartmental collaboration and alignment.
- Implement governance structures, milestones, and performance metrics to guarantee successful project delivery.
- Serve as executive sponsor for key strategic projects and work to eliminate execution obstacles.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team, preparing strategic presentations, board documentation, and business reviews.
- Support planning processes including annual business planning, budgeting, and company-wide objective setting.
- Assess mergers, acquisitions, and partnership opportunities including due diligence, financial scrutiny, integration, and execution.
- Drive identification and cultivation of strategic partnerships to enhance market position.
- Encourage collaboration across Marketing, Commercial, Product, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Retail, and People teams to ensure initiatives align with priorities and are executed effectively.
- Promote a culture emphasizing accountability, data-informed decision-making, and continuous growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA is a plus.
- 8 to 12 years’ professional experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, business transformation, commercial strategy, or comparable leadership roles.
- Preferred background in FMCG, consumer brands, retail, or e-commerce sectors.
- Proven track record leading strategic initiatives and organizational change across functions.
- Strong commercial insight with the ability to balance strategic foresight and operational implementation.
- Advanced analytical abilities including financial modeling and robust problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional leadership, stakeholder engagement, and influence skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation talents, accustomed to engaging senior leadership and board members.
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization/business intelligence platforms like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
