Role Summary

This position, based in Darwin, offers a leadership role providing financial oversight across the DCOH Group. The successful candidate will report to the CFO, managing financial reporting, governance, compliance, operations, and risk management, while leading the finance team. You will collaborate closely with the CFO and business leaders to enhance financial performance, strengthen controls, and facilitate sound strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage group month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely consolidated reports and statutory financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax obligations, audits, and regulatory reporting.
  • Oversee accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, treasury, revenue recognition, and cost accounting.
  • Maintain and enhance financial controls, governance structures, accounting policies, and procedures throughout the Group.
  • Supervise balance sheet reconciliations to guarantee accuracy in financial records and reporting.
  • Deliver financial analyses and insights to support strategic planning and improve business performance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to foster high performance with a focus on accountability and execution.
  • Drive initiatives promoting continuous improvement in finance systems, reporting, controls, and operational workflows.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities across the organisation.
  • Collaborate with business unit finance leads to align financial practices and governance standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with auditors, banking institutions, advisers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of professionalism and continuous improvement in line with DCOH's Code of Conduct.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Certified Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA), or equivalent postgraduate qualifications in Finance, Accounting, or related fields.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, including senior leadership roles.
  • Expertise in technical accounting standards such as AASB and IFRS, taxation, and statutory reporting compliance.
  • Proven track record managing audits, governance frameworks, and financial control environments.
  • Extensive experience with banking, cash flow management, and financial risk oversight.
  • Strong commercial insight with the ability to analyze financial results and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Experience leading, developing, and motivating high-performing finance teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities, with influencing and collaboration skills across all organizational levels.
  • Strong skills in analysis, problem-solving, and driving process enhancements.
  • Prior experience in construction, property development, hospitality, or project-driven environments is highly desirable.
