Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Sr. GCP DevOps Engineer to provide expert technical support and lead cloud operations on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Candidates should have extensive experience supporting, troubleshooting, and optimizing cloud environments, ensuring high availability and performance for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced technical assistance for various GCP services with emphasis on security and role management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, networking, security, and performance-related challenges faced by clients.
- Debug application deployment, scaling, and monitoring issues in GCP environments.
- Support infrastructure management by aiding customers in provisioning and configuring their GCP settings and advising best practices for workload deployment and management.
- Facilitate migration of on-premises applications to GCP.
- Handle networking and security troubleshooting including VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, NAT gateways, and Load Balancers.
- Advise on securing cloud environments through IAM roles, encryption strategies, and compliance adherence.
- Analyze and enhance performance of GCP resources and applications, offering guidance on cost savings, resource allocation, and autoscaling.
- Manage incident responses effectively, escalating complex problems to Google product teams as needed and ensuring resolution follow-up.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Comprehensive understanding of core GCP services such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Identity and Access Management (IAM), Monitoring, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, etc.
- Hands-on expertise with Terraform Enterprise (TFE) and infrastructure as code principles.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation utilizing Python, Bash, Terraform, and CloudFormation.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration platforms.
- Experience implementing end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub, ArgoCD, or GCP-native pipelines.
- Proven ability to design and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks for infrastructure reliability.
- Mandatory possession of relevant GCP certification.
