Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort is seeking a dependable and proactive Gardener to maintain and enhance the landscaped grounds of their property on a full-time basis. This position plays a vital role in sustaining the safety, aesthetic appeal, and welcoming atmosphere of the outdoor areas for both guests and staff by performing routine gardening and maintenance duties safely and responsibly.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily gardening and grounds upkeep in line with resort standards.
• Care for lawns, garden beds, hedges, trees, and other landscaped features.
• Operate gardening machinery and tools with safety and professionalism.
• Maintain, clean, and properly store all garden equipment after use.
• Implement environmentally conscious gardening methods when applicable.
• Identify and report hazards or maintenance needs promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas at all times.
• Assist with seasonal planting, pruning, mulching, and garden enhancement projects.
• Adhere strictly to Workplace Health and Safety protocols and relevant regulations.

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday with specific start and finish times to be determined.
• Occasional work during weekends or public holidays may be required on an as-needed basis.

Compensation

• Monday to Friday: $27.97 per hour (exclusive of superannuation).
• Saturday: $34.96 per hour.
• Sunday: $41.96 per hour.

Qualifications and Attributes

• Experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance.
• Familiarity with the safe operation of gardening tools and equipment.
• Basic knowledge of plant care, lawn maintenance, and garden aesthetics.
• Strong commitment to Workplace Health and Safety standards.
• Ability to independently manage tasks and maintain a reliable work ethic.
• Physical fitness appropriate for manual outdoor labor.
• Positive attitude and dedication towards enhancing the property's appearance.
• Certifications or qualifications in horticulture or related fields are highly valued.
