Position Overview
MLabs is looking for a motivated and entrepreneurial Founding Talent Lead to join as their inaugural dedicated recruitment professional. This full-time, on-site role based in New York City or London will involve working closely with the founding team to establish a comprehensive recruitment infrastructure. The successful candidate will collaborate with leadership from multiple departments including engineering, sales, claims, and operations to define hiring excellence and attract outstanding talent to elevate organizational standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the entire hiring process end-to-end—from developing engaging job descriptions and structuring effective interview stages to facilitating selection decisions, extending job offers, and closing top candidates.
- Proactively identify and engage passive candidates through strategic sourcing methods including outbound campaigns, network referrals, creative channels, and relationship-building ahead of recruitment needs.
- Design, implement, and continuously optimize scalable recruitment systems, processes, and applicant tracking workflows to ensure efficient and high-quality talent evaluation.
- Develop and refine employee referral programs to effectively harness the networks of current staff members.
- Support the establishment of onboarding procedures, human resources processes, and early performance management systems to enable smooth and productive transitions for new hires.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess 2 to 7 years of experience in full-lifecycle recruitment, preferably within fast-paced startup environments.
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to work onsite at either the New York City or London office five days a week.
- Have a strong track record of building recruitment workflows and sourcing mechanisms from scratch, with flexibility to adapt these systems as organizational needs change.
- Exhibit exceptional sourcing capabilities across diverse business functions and seniority levels, with the ability to identify high-quality talent beyond traditional approaches.
- Bring experience in recruiting technical roles such as engineers and developers within high-performing technology settings is strongly favored.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build authentic trust, represent the employer brand effectively, and engage high-potential candidates enthusiastically.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $90,000 to $140,000 per year.
- Equity offerings as part of compensation.
- Quarterly bonus of 15% based on performance.
