Role Responsibilities

The position of Firefighter, based in Ahmedabad, involves full-time, on-site duties centered on fire response and safety assurance. Key daily tasks include attending fire alarms and emergency alerts, executing fire extinguishing tasks, and assisting in rescue efforts to protect life and property. The role requires consistent inspection and upkeep of firefighting apparatus, conducting safety audits, and active participation in routine drills and educational sessions. Additionally, the Firefighter will impart fire prevention knowledge and emergency preparedness guidance to the public and clients. Effective teamwork and adherence to established protocols are essential, along with the preparation of detailed incident reports following emergencies.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Robust physical condition, endurance, and capability to handle rigorous duties in hazardous, high-stress environments.
  • Understanding of fire safety principles, prevention techniques, and emergency response protocols.
  • Proficiency in operating firefighting tools and equipment, such as hoses, extinguishers, ladders, and protective apparel.
  • Strong communication and cooperation skills to function efficiently within team settings and alongside other emergency responders.
  • Ability to make swift, sound decisions and accurately execute directions under emergency conditions.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet operational demands.
  • Preferably completed accredited firefighter training or certification.
  • Basic competency in first aid and CPR; further emergency medical training regarded as beneficial.
  • Minimum educational qualification is a high school diploma or equivalent; additional training in safety or emergency management is advantageous.
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development, strict observance of safety norms, and consistent ethical behavior.
