Position Location and Schedule
This role is based in London and operates on a fixed-term, full-time schedule. Shifts follow a 4 days on, 4 days off pattern, covering 07:00–19:00 or 19:00–07:00, including Mondays through Sundays.
Primary Responsibilities
- Respond promptly in fire emergencies and investigate suspected fires, liaising with emergency services as needed.
- At shift start, gather the on-call mobile phone, fire warden clipboard, and fire pack.
- When fire alarms sound, thoroughly inspect designated areas including restrooms, cupboards, and storage rooms.
- Guide occupants to exit the premises safely and direct them to assembly points without using force or engaging in confrontation.
- Inform fire brigade of anyone remaining inside after evacuation.
- Support fire brigade in building searches, providing keys and access codes.
- Report evacuation concerns to supervising personnel and record fire alarm system faults.
Daily Duties During Shifts
- Ensure fire exits and routes are clear and unobstructed.
- Verify visibility and accessibility of fire alarm call points.
- Check fire extinguishers are present and unobstructed.
- Monitor housekeeping standards to minimize fire hazards such as improper waste storage.
- Report smoking occurrences and other fire safety issues within the building.
Security Duties
- Conduct evening security rounds checking locked windows and doors, switched-off lights and appliances, and closed blinds or curtains to protect assets.
- Observe for unauthorized access or suspicious activities and report to designated executive cover.
- Ensure security alarms remain active and intact.
- Manage security bollards by responding to calls and controlling their access during shifts.
- In event of incidents, contact police via 999 for emergencies and 111 for non-urgent reports; notify executive cover accordingly.
- Maintain personal safety and avoid unnecessary risks.
Handling General Emergencies
- Serve as an on-site contact during medical and significant maintenance emergencies, while not providing first aid or treatment.
- In emergencies, immediately call 999 and notify executive cover.
Hospitality Responsibilities
- Offer access assistance to guests.
- Monitor premises for unusual activities, excessive noise, damage, or inappropriate behavior during events and lettings.
- Provide basic hospitality supplies and services as needed.
- Assist with tidying post-events or lettings.
Additional Duties
Occasionally, perform other agreed tasks consistent with skills and competence levels, such as administrative work, housekeeping, or maintenance support, using provided tools.
Skills and Qualities
- Must demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and trustworthiness.
- Remain composed under pressure and follow directives accurately.
- Possess good interpersonal skills and capability to apply initiative appropriately.
- Advantageous skills include basic administration, maintenance, housekeeping, prior security or fire warden experience, first aid certification, hospitality, and audiovisual training.
Candidate Profile
- Willingness to mobilize flexibly on short notice.
- Experience in the security sector and possession of a valid SIA license.
- Excellent customer service aptitude with strong verbal and written communication.
- Eligibility to work in the UK and verifiable employment history for five years.

Compensation and Contract Details
The wage is set at £9.24 per hour under a fixed-term contract.
Shift Timings
Working hours alternate between 07:00–19:00 and 19:00–07:00 on a 4 days on, 4 days off basis, covering all weekdays including Sundays.
