Role Overview

We are looking for a capable and self-motivated Manager for Financial Planning & Analysis to lead the financial decision-making of our multi-channel retail operations including brick-and-mortar, online, and wholesale sectors. This prominent role requires owning the entire FP&A cycle—from annual budgeting aligned with strategic objectives to weekly forecasting and monthly financial closes. The ideal candidate is proactive and mentally agile, anticipating needs before being directed, constructing models ahead of requests, and guiding discussions with well-founded financial data. They will combine a professional services mindset with retail industry acumen and work closely with various departments daily, demanding strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full budgeting and mid-term planning process for the P&L, collaborating with business leaders to set goals, validate assumptions, and consolidate channel data into an enterprise-wide perspective; oversee the preparation of deliverables.
  • Lead weekly re-forecasting through driver-based models linking operational metrics to P&L outcomes, proactively identifying risks and opportunities supported by clear rationale.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models facilitating scenario and sensitivity analyses.
  • Coordinate month-end closing procedures including financial validations, accrual preparations, and reconciliations in partnership with the Accounting department.
  • Provide detailed variance analysis comparing budget, forecast, and prior year, delving beyond surface numbers to explain causes and implications.
  • Analyze revenue, gross margin, SG&A expenses, and operating profit by channels and cost centers to uncover trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve margins.
  • Conduct ROI, sensitivity, and scenario analyses to guide leadership’s investment decisions, including marketing expenditures.
  • Create and maintain regular management reporting packages transforming financial figures into actionable insights.
  • Act as the main FP&A partner to commercial and operational leaders across all sales channels, embedding financial discipline into channel-level decisions.
  • Communicate complex financial data into clear executive narratives accessible to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration to align financial targets and operational assumptions across channels and business units.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance forecast accuracy, streamline processes, and shorten planning cycles.
  • Lead standardization of financial models, reports, and planning procedures to improve scalability and uniformity.
  • Support financial system enhancements through design, testing, and implementation efforts.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the FP&A Analyst, encouraging development in modeling, communication, and business partnership skills.
  • Set an example of proactive, precise, and accountable finance professionalism within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration with a finance focus; CPA, CFA, or MBA credentials highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive FP&A experience, including at least 2 years leading or managing teams; experience in retail sales and margin planning advantageous.
  • Background in professional services such as Big 4 accounting, management consulting, or financial advisory is essential.
  • Track record of career growth and substantive tenure in one or more organizations.
  • Experience within retail, consumer goods, or multi-channel settings; direct engagement with Brick & Mortar, E-Commerce, and Wholesale preferred.
  • Highly detail-oriented self-starter with exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, particularly driver-based modeling; experience with Copilot, Word, and PowerPoint is preferred.
  • Strong grasp of financial and accounting principles, including accrual accounting.
  • Proven capacity to operate autonomously, prioritize multiple demands under deadlines, and complete tasks without extensive oversight.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior management.
  • Preferred experience includes system implementations with quality assurance and testing, as well as project management involving multi-stakeholder finance initiatives.
