Position Overview
This Financial Analyst role is vital to the Middle East & Africa LNG Business Unit, tasked with delivering precise financial reporting, analyzing variances, and supporting forecasting functions. The incumbent will provide timely financial insights that facilitate well-informed decisions while ensuring alignment with local and corporate financial reporting standards, planning procedures, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reporting processes.
- Analyze and prepare income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow variance explanations.
- Guarantee the accuracy, completeness, and punctuality of internal financial reports.
- Deliver insightful analysis on financial performance and the key factors influencing results.
- Present critical financial data, trends, and business insights to the Regional Finance Manager and leadership teams.
- Assist in the Business Unit’s financial planning and forecasting by collaborating with asset and functional teams to develop Long Range Plans, Annual Budgets, and Monthly Outlooks/Forecasts.
- Contribute financial analyses and recommendations to support strategic planning efforts.
- Evaluate business performance against budgets, forecasts, and plans.
- Respond to financial and operational inquiries from management and key stakeholders.
- Offer analytical support to aid local management in decision-making processes.
- Help stakeholders interpret financial outcomes, trends, forecasts, and business implications.
- Ensure prompt and accurate financial information delivery supporting both operational and strategic goals.
- Manage corporate tax reporting requests and coordinate compliance activities.
- Support both internal and external audits, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance documentation.
- Maintain strong internal controls and uphold corporate governance standards.
- Build and sustain effective relationships within the internal Finance teams and across functions to enhance financial deliverables and business objectives.
- Contribute broader support activities to the Business Unit Finance function as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (foreign equivalent qualifications accepted).
- At least 5 years of professional experience in finance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
- Strong skills in financial analysis and reporting.
Preferred Experience
- Proven experience in building financial models.
- Familiarity with SAP or comparable enterprise accounting platforms.
- Minimum 5 years of finance experience within the oil and gas sector is highly valued.
