Finance Officer

Overview

The Bureau of Meteorology is looking for a proactive and motivated Finance Officer to join their team in Canberra. This role involves delivering comprehensive financial and administrative support to various stakeholders both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Finance Operations team by assisting with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing Card management, and Travel Finance processes.
• Participate actively in the bureau’s finance transformation initiatives, helping to implement changes that drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure best practice standards are maintained in procure-to-pay workflows, invoice generation and distribution, and reconciliation of purchasing card statements.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Familiarity with Commonwealth financial management controls, especially the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act 2013.
• Experience working with SAP and SAP Concur financial systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
