Field Service Technician - Water Infrastructure Technologies

Role Summary

We are seeking a Field Service Technician based in the Mississauga or Montreal region who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and working outdoors. This hybrid position involves significant travel across Canada, supporting municipal and utility infrastructure projects aimed at assessing the health of water and wastewater pipelines through advanced inspection technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, operate, and retrieve specialized pipeline inspection and condition assessment equipment
• Travel to project sites nationwide supporting water transmission and wastewater infrastructure initiatives
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and operational problems encountered in the field
• Inspect, test, service, and prepare equipment prior to deployment
• Interpret maps, construction drawings, technical schematics, and related documents
• Assist senior technicians in project planning, coordination, and execution activities
• Conduct daily safety briefings, hazard assessments, and onsite planning
• Document field activities including project reports, timesheets, and expense records
• Communicate actively with customers, contractors, municipalities, and stakeholders
• Support ongoing initiatives geared toward safety improvements, quality assurance, and operational excellence

Candidate Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Environmental Engineering or related discipline; Engineering Technologist Diploma with relevant experience considered
• Up to 5 years’ experience in field service, construction, utilities, infrastructure, or environmental sectors
• Strong mechanical aptitude, adept with tools and field equipment
• Proficient at troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems
• Ability to read and analyze technical drawings, schematics, plans, and maps
• Excellent communication and client service skills
• Previous experience working with customers, contractors, or clients preferred
• French language proficiency is an asset
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record required
• Must be Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Willingness to travel up to 75% across Canada, with occasional travel to the U.S. and internationally

Preferred Skills – Additional Certifications

• Experience with water, wastewater, utility, or municipal infrastructure projects
• Familiarity with pipeline inspection or infrastructure condition assessment
• Certifications: Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry, First Aid/CPR
• Background in construction or industrial field roles
