Field Service Engineer

Role Overview

This position is for a field service engineer who will handle installation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and customer support across laptops, air conditioners, televisions, and home appliances. The role requires visiting customer sites, identifying faults, replacing defective parts, and ensuring that equipment is restored to proper working condition in a timely manner.

Laptop Repair Work

• Find and diagnose hardware and software problems in laptops and notebooks.
• Carry out repairs or component replacements for items such as motherboards, keyboards, screens, batteries, RAM, SSD/HDD, and charging ports.
• Set up, configure, and upgrade operating systems including Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Remove viruses and install antivirus protection.
• Recover data and create backups whenever needed.
• Perform regular maintenance and system tuning.
• Keep repair records and service documentation updated.
• Offer technical assistance and explain solutions to customers.
• Work to provide quick service and maintain customer satisfaction.

AC Service Duties

• Install, service, and repair air conditioning systems such as split, window, central, and VRF units.
• Identify electrical and mechanical issues in AC equipment.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and routine servicing.
• Clean or replace filters, coils, compressors, and other parts as needed.
• Check refrigerant levels and manage refrigerants safely.
• Test units after installation or repair to confirm correct performance.
• Interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Follow safety rules and environmental requirements.
• Maintain service logs and complete job reports.
• Provide customers with technical guidance and support.

TV Technician Duties

• Diagnose faults in LED, LCD, OLED, Smart TVs, and related electronic devices.
• Install and configure television systems at customer premises.
• Resolve hardware and software issues in televisions.
• Replace damaged parts such as display panels, power boards, speakers, and motherboards.
• Carry out routine checks and testing of TV units.
• Update firmware and software in Smart TVs when required.
• Maintain repair documentation and service records.
• Coordinate with customers about repair progress and service timing.
• Keep tools and equipment in proper working condition.
• Follow company safety practices and service procedures.

Home Appliance Service Work

• Inspect and repair appliances such as washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners, microwave ovens, televisions, water purifiers, and kitchen appliances.
• Install and commission appliances at customer locations.
• Respond to service requests and resolve customer complaints within the assigned timeline.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections.
• Identify defective parts and replace components where needed.
• Maintain service reports, job cards, and customer records.
• Educate customers on correct usage and maintenance practices.
• Handle tools, spare parts, and company property carefully.
• Follow safety procedures and service standards.
• Work with the service team on pending issues and spare part needs.
• Meet service targets and customer satisfaction expectations.

Appliance and Product Knowledge

Expected product knowledge includes refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, air conditioners, LED/LCD TVs, water purifiers, and kitchen appliances.

Additional Information

The compensation offered for this role is INR 18,000 to INR 35,000 per month. The role is based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
