Role Overview

The Facility Management Director leads the strategic, technical, and operational management of the organization’s built and natural assets across multiple sites. This leadership position manages the entire lifecycle of Facilities Management (FM) and Landscape Operations & Maintenance (O&M) services to ensure world-class delivery, implement asset management best practices, and advise senior executives, government agencies, and stakeholders. The director also oversees Landscape O&M support throughout the programme lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and enforce comprehensive FM and Landscape O&M strategies aligned with corporate long-term goals.
• Establish governance, performance systems, SLAs, and KPIs covering hard, soft, infrastructure, and landscape FM disciplines.
• Manage strategic asset planning, including lifecycle costing, capital replacement, and sustainability improvements.
• Represent FM in executive and governmental committees.
• Guide asset lifecycle phases: design review, mobilization, operation, maintenance, optimization, and decommissioning.
• Ensure assets maintain optimal performance, resilience, and compliance.
• Direct FM and O&M contract mobilization, operational readiness, and contractor management.
• Integrate operations with urban, environmental, and community considerations.
• Lead procurement strategies, RFP development, and bid evaluation for FM and O&M services.
• Oversee tendering processes including assessment, negotiation, and awarding contracts.
• Maintain financial controls, including forecasting, contract variations, cash flow, and risk management.
• Drive cost optimization and commercial innovation.
• Ensure regulatory, environmental, safety, and health compliance across all operations and contractors.
• Develop risk registers, emergency plans, and business continuity strategies.
• Implement quality assurance frameworks to maintain high-standard service delivery and continuous improvement.
• Function as senior liaison to government entities, clients, community groups, and stakeholders.
• Lead executive presentations, reporting, workshops, and strategic planning.
• Foster collaborative partnerships and cross-functional alignment.
• Lead and mentor multi-disciplinary teams, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and ongoing development.
• Identify skill gaps and implement training, succession, and professional growth initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in Facilities & Asset Management for large, complex, multi-site environments.
• Extensive knowledge of Operations & Maintenance across hard, soft, infrastructure, and extensive landscape services.
• Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape, or equivalent field.
