Facility Attendant - E3

Overview

Target is seeking a Facility Attendant to perform various maintenance and upkeep tasks within their Distribution Center located in Hampton, GA. This role is vital in supporting smooth logistics operations by maintaining equipment, facilities, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Maintenance Technicians with mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance, including servicing hand tools and minor floor machinery.
• Serve as a Qualified Electrical Assistant, following electrical safety protocols.
• Install, remove, or repair equipment throughout the facility under maintenance supervision.
• Inspect interior and exterior areas to identify repair or upkeep needs.
• Change, maintain, and clean batteries for Powered Industrial Trucks and keep accurate battery records.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Label Tec Printers.
• Operate various hand and power tools such as drills, saws, sanders, grinders, pneumatic tools, and welders.
• Construct or repair facility assets including furniture, shelving, racks, and workbenches using carpentry, welding, and fabrication skills.
• Perform plumbing duties like faucet installation, sprinkler repair, cleaning drains and sumps.
• Conduct painting, drywall repair, concrete patching, and minor concrete replacement tasks.
• Support preventive maintenance programs (pest control, HVAC) and update related records.
• Manage waste removal, including cardboard bales and trash, and maintain tidy building grounds.
• Operate snow removal machinery on assigned areas during winter.
• Drive Target vehicles for yard cleanup, incident response, vendor escorting, and material pickups.
• Maintain safety through proper equipment operation, lifting techniques, and spill clean-up.
• Complete documentation such as work order logs and requisitions, using handheld devices to input data including labor hours and parts used.
• Follow safety standards while using PPE and comply with Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash procedures.
• [Food & Beverage only:] Adhere to sanitation and maintenance regulations supporting industrial ammonia refrigeration systems.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly lift and carry up to 47 lbs., occasionally up to 60 lbs.
• Be mobile within the facility for 10-12 hours per shift.
• Work in temperature-controlled spaces, including below-freezing for Food Distribution Center roles.
• Operate in environments with dust, fumes, varying temperatures, noise, and uneven surfaces.
• Access all facility areas including conveyor crossovers and mezzanine platforms.
• Possess full manual dexterity and coordination to operate equipment and tools.

Candidate Profile

• Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Capable of independent work as well as collaborating within a team.
• [F&B roles only:] Comfortable in cold environments.
• Strong communication skills and basic math proficiency.
• Certification-ready to operate all power equipment safely.
• Experienced with maintenance tools: saws, drills, etc.
• Able to read and understand labels, instructions, and tickets.
• Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision.

Shift and Compensation

This position's regular shift is Sunday through Wednesday, 10:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. The starting pay is $21.90 per hour, with potential additional shift differentials of $2.00 to $3.50 per hour based on eligibility.
