Engineer, Supplier & Customer Quality

Job Overview

POET Technologies is seeking a dedicated Engineer for Supplier and Customer Quality based in the Ruhr Region with on-site work mode. This role involves overseeing quality standards across suppliers and customer networks within the semiconductor manufacturing sector, ensuring product excellence and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and uphold quality standards for suppliers aligned with corporate, customer, and regulatory demands.
• Perform supplier qualification through audits, assessment of capabilities, and ongoing performance evaluation.
• Track supplier performance metrics such as defect rates, parts per million (PPM), delivery quality, and the efficacy of corrective actions.
• Manage nonconformances by implementing containment actions, conducting root cause analysis, and leading corrective and preventive measures including 8D and CAPA.
• Support onboarding of new suppliers and introduction of new products by reviewing First Article Inspection (FAI) submissions, control plans, and inspection standards.
• Carry out various supplier audits including process, system, and product audits, ensuring timely resolution of findings.
• Work closely with Purchasing, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to mitigate supplier quality risks and promote improvements.
• Champion continuous improvement projects aimed at defect reduction, minimizing the cost of poor quality, and decreasing supply chain risks.
• Maintain supplier quality records to comply with quality management system protocols.

Qualifications and Experience

• Earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering fields such as Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Possess between 3 to 5 years of experience in supplier or manufacturing quality roles, ideally within automotive, aerospace, electronic, or heavy manufacturing sectors.
• Deep understanding of Quality Management Systems including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100 standards.
• Skilled in supplier audits, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), First Article Inspection (FAI), control plans, and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Proficient in root cause analysis and familiar with 8D and CAPA methodologies for corrective action management.
• Competent in statistical process control (SPC), quality tool application, and data analysis, complemented by strong communication and collaborative skills across departments.
