Embedded Software Test Engineer (C++ / Embedded C)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Embedded Software Test Engineer proficient in C++ and Embedded C to join our team in Chennai. This role involves manual testing to validate embedded software solutions across diverse platforms, ensuring the highest product quality standards within an extensive software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement manual test cases tailored for embedded software products.
• Conduct validation of software developed using C++ and Embedded C languages.
• Execute Functional, Integration, System, and Regression testing phases thoroughly.
• Analyze software requirements to craft detailed test plans and comprehensive test documentation.
• Investigate software defects by examining logs and test outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to resolve issues and enhance product quality.
• Engage in requirement reviews and contribute to test strategy formulation.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proficient programming skills in C++ and Embedded C.
• Hands-on experience with manual testing of embedded systems.
• Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Competence in Functional, System, Integration, and Regression testing techniques.
• Familiarity with microcontrollers, embedded systems, and firmware testing approaches.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging capabilities.

Preferred Expertise

• Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and Embedded Linux.
• Understanding of communication protocols including CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, and TCP/IP.
• Experience utilizing defect tracking tools such as Jira or Bugzilla.
• Previous involvement in automotive domain projects is advantageous.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology in any specialization.
