Role Summary

As a Drafting Technologist reporting to the Design Manager, you will enhance the Design team by providing expert Revit modeling, technical drafting, construction detailing, visualization, and drawing production. Your role involves creating precise and comprehensive drawing and Issued For Manufacturing (IFM) packages to facilitate permitting, procurement, off-site fabrication, and on-site assembly. You will integrate approved design data, consultant and supplier documentation, redlines, revisions, and production specifications into models and drawing sets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Revit models, drawings, details, and technical documents following guidance from BIM and Design Leads.
• Produce drawing packages suitable for permitting, procurement, off-site fabrication, and assembly processes.
• Draft architectural and construction details including building assemblies, interfaces, and modular connections aligned with approved designs.
• Generate 2D drawings, 3D perspectives, diagrams, and presentation materials.
• Revise drawings and models incorporating feedback, approved design updates, and issued revisions.
• Create and manage Revit families, schedules, sheets, templates, and enforce project standards.
• Assist Design Leads in assembling completed IFM packages integrating shop drawings, RFIs, revisions, product details, and production requirements.
• Detect and communicate any missing or conflicting information to Design Leads for resolution.
• Prepare photorealistic renderings, colored floor plans, and visual materials to support design development, client presentations, and marketing efforts using tools like Revit, 3D Max, and Twinmotion.
• Maintain organization and quality control of Revit models, views, sheets, and files ensuring accurate revision tracking.

Qualifications & Experience

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Engineering Design and Drafting Technology, or related field.
• At least 3 to 4 years of experience in architectural, engineering, or modular building drafting and BIM workflows.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and managing BIM models and drawing packages.
• Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud and Revit Cloud Models.
• Solid understanding of building systems, architectural and structural modeling principles.
• Familiar with building construction methods, assemblies, materials, and relevant building and safety codes.
• Skilled in preparing documentation for permits, construction, manufacturing, and IFM packages.
• Ability to build parametric Revit families, view filters, and templates.
• Team-oriented work style with collaborative skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience using Forma Build software.
• Familiarity with Twinmotion or similar rendering tools.
• Background in modular or prefabricated construction settings.
• Knowledge of Arkance Wood Framing Tools.
• Understanding of MEP coordination and modeling.
