Job description

About The Role

The success of Matilda relies heavily on distribution, and we are seeking a Distribution Engineer to take full ownership of this critical function. In this position, you will be responsible for designing and managing AI-powered systems that generate, test, and scale how Matilda engages with users.

At Maincode, our approach involves developing systems in research, engineering, and operations that self-sustain and improve without requiring manual input. Distribution represents the next major focus area for us.

A single skilled engineer leveraging the right infrastructure can surpass the performance of an entire team. You will develop this kind of powerful, self-improving distribution system.

Responsibilities

  • Develop AI agent pipelines to create, test, and optimize advertisements, content, and messaging on a large scale.
  • Design and implement growth mechanisms spanning paid, organic, and proprietary channels.
  • Construct experimentation frameworks aimed at continuous enhancement of performance metrics across the customer funnel.
  • Integrate real-time data feedback loops linked to multiple data sources and APIs to support informed decision-making.
  • Build a distribution engine that self-improves over time without manual oversight.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in growth, performance marketing, or go-to-market (GTM) system development.
  • Strong background in experimentation techniques and data analysis.
  • A builder mentality with skills in programming, automation, and systems architecture.
  • Proficiency working with large language models (LLMs), APIs, and agent workflow design.
  • Systems-thinking approach with an understanding of infrastructure design.
  • Good intuition for crafting messaging, analyzing user behavior, and improving conversion rates.
  • Ability to operate effectively across both technical and commercial domains.
  • Fast delivery orientation coupled with rapid learning abilities.

Additional Information

This is a full-time position based in Melbourne, requiring close collaboration with the on-site team. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role, so candidates must possess existing and unrestricted work authorization in Australia.
